Barbara HagerBarbara Hager is the owner of Aarrow Productions Inc. and has been the Host, Director and Producer of The New Canoe since 2002. Barbara was born in Edmonton and comes from a large Métis family with roots in St. Paul, Alberta and the Red River Settlement. She is the author of two books, Honour Song, (Raincoast Books, 1996), and On Her Way: The Life and Music of Shania Twain (Penguin/Putnam, 1998). Her articles and commentaries have been published in The Globe and Mail, Chatelaine, Focus on Women, Indian Artist, Bluegrass Magazine, the Georgia Straight and US Rock. Barbara has worked for numerous Aboriginal organizations, including the National Aboriginal Achievement Foundation, North American Indigenous Games and the First Peoples Cultural Foundation. She was the Aboriginal Liaison at the Royal BC Museum for five years.
